and Where is
the Phantom Gallery?
A
Phantom is something that exists only in appearance or
something elusive. A Phantom Gallery is usually a
storefront loaned to artists for a one-time show.
MainStreet Oceanside’s Phantom Gallery has become a
permanent feature in Oceanside’s Artists Alley. The
Phantom Gallery exists, but isn’t always easy to
find.
Artists Alley is located immediately behind the 200 block
of North Coast Highway (bordered by Mission Ave on the
south and Pier View Way on the north). If you are on
Mission Ave, Artists Alley entrance is just to the east of
Muchobueno Taco Shop. If you are on Pier View Way, Artists
Alley entrance is just to the east of Oceanside Gear. The
Phantom Gallery is located almost in the center of the
block.
This year there is nothing elusive about our shows. The
Phantom’s newly created artists group is committed to
helping MainStreet Oceanside create an ongoing showcase for
the artwork of the region. New artist members are welcome
to join at any time. The group does not charge dues or a
hanging fee and provides an ever-changing show of the best
artwork the committed group is producing.
