NEW MANAGER FOR SUNSET MARKET:
LISA HAMEL
Lisa Hamel, the newest addition
to MainStreet Oceanside’s busy staff, has accepted
the job of Market Manager at the exciting new downtown
Sunset Market, due to make its debut on August 2, 2007!
Lisa was born and raised in Babylon, Long Island, NY and
has been a resident of San Diego County for the last
fourteen years.
Lisa has strong views about the look and feel of the new
market: “We want the farmers, nursery men, crafters,
artisans and musicians to provide our customers with a
beautiful and unique shopping experience. We’ll have
hot food vendors creating mouth watering meals right before
your eyes, and a “Baker’s Alley” area
with fresh baked goods and prepackaged goodies to take
home. All of the vendors will be juried for quality and
‘curb appeal’”.
Lisa has a wide variety of experience and education,
including hotel restaurant management, marketing for
Hornblower Yachts, and advertising sales for the North
County Times. The last 6 years she has been involved in
photography, as both a vendor at the current MainStreet
Morning Market and as a photographer for City of Oceanside
special events. In her spare time Lisa is a volunteer for
North County Hospice. She has been married for eight years
to Roger Hamel, a Vietnam veteran and retired school
teacher.
A vivacious, energetic, positive personality is certainly
Lisa’s trademark. She says that given a task her
motto is: Consider It Done! Coupled with all her past
experiences and her optimistic but realistic attitude, we
are sure that Lisa will make the Sunset Market a growing
and successful endeavor for all involved.
“My goal,” adds Lisa, “is to create a
weekly tradition that will appeal to families, students
from our nearby colleges, and neighbors from near and
far.”
